Naturally, the moon will reflect this color, turning to “blood.” Not only this, its color will shift-to red-and our sun will become a red giant, burning hotter and brighter than ever before. But at the end of that lifespan, it will run out of hydrogen to burn and begin to swell. Left to itself, our sun has a lifespan of billions of years. But in Acts 2:20, Peter preaches to a crowd, saying that before the second coming of Christ, “The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.” Without its power, we would quickly starve, freeze, and cease to be. The sun is the source of all life on Earth. Let’s take a look at these 6 end-of-the-world scenarios, and how they might really play out in our modern world. There will be signs, but we cannot know the time or the manner in which it will occur-even the angels do not know, nor does Christ, according to Mark 13:32.īut in each of these signs, we find clues as to how this world may pass away in preparation for the new. There are hints, throughout the Bible, of a coming calamity. And today, we continue to move and live within God’s tale.īut like all stories, it has to come to an end. The story continued, moving through the ups and downs of the Old Testament, the great triumph of Christ’s resurrection in the New Testament, and on to the establishment of the Christian Church. From His first words were wrought the heavens and the earth and the light that illuminates it all. A long time ago, God began telling the story of reality.
